The PCR plate is used in the PCR machine, which is the same as the microplate with the microplate reader. PCR plate is used as a solid-phase carrier for the sample to perform PCR reaction and detect by PCR machine. In fact, put it simply, a PCR plate is a combination of many PCR tubes, generally 96 wells.

Why we use PCR plate?
PCR plates are valuable for detecting specific pathogens that are hard to culture or require a long cultivation period. PCR plates can be seen as valuable screening tools.
PCR plates are significantly more rapid in providing results compared to culturing.
PCR plates enable earlier informed decision making.
PCR plates can diagnose bacteremia rapidly, particularly for low levels of bacteria in specimens
PCR plates are useful in detecting cases in extra pulmonary specimens which may be missed by smearing or culturing.
PCR plate is still considered an adjunct test for certain diagnostic tests that still rely on smearing and culturing.
The PCR plate is made of polypropylene in an integrated design. The whole set of PCR plate is smoothly matched, with strong transparency, good softness, strong corrosion resistance, anti-static, and good air tightness.
The PCR plate is suitable for conventional PCR and quantitative PCR systems.
PCR plate is produced in a 100,000-level dust-free workshop to ensure that the product is free of DNase, RNase and protease.
How to seal PCR plate?
The following procedure describes how to properly load PCR plates using cap strips or adhesive seals.
Place the PCR plate on a splash-free 96-well base. Pipette the samples into the sample wells. Seal the PCR plates by using cap strips or adhesive film. Place the sealed PCR plate into the instrument without the splash-free base.
Align and place the cap strip on the appropriate wells on the 96-well PCR plate. Remove the backing of the adhesive film. Align the adhesive film so as to cover all wells while placing on the PCR plate. Then rub the flat edge of the applicator back and forth along the long edge of the PCR plate. Rub the end of the applicator horizontally and vertically between all wells of PCR plate. Rub the end of the applicator around all outside edges of the PCR plate using small back and forth motions to form a complete seal around the outside wells of PCR plate.
Does PCR plate need to clean?
The PCR plate has colors of transparent or milky white. Milky white PCR plate is more suitable for new PCR instruments. Transparent PCR plate is available if the PCR instrument is a bottom light source.
According to the skirt design, the PCR plates can be divided into various design modes, that are non-skirted, half-skirted and full-skirted PCR plates. Different manufacturers will design different cut corners or borders to fit the PCR machine.
PCR plate is divided into 100ul volume called low plate and 20ul volume called high plate. Choose suitable PCR plates to avoid damage to the machine caused by height errors and data distortion caused by uneven heating.
The PCR plate is a one-time consumable, which is formed once in production. It is not recommended to cut PCR plate, which may increase the experimental error. PCR plate cannot be cleaned or partially reused. Don't bring worries to follow-up analysis to the experiment just to save a little money.
