How to seal PCR plate?
The following procedure describes how to properly load PCR plates using cap strips or adhesive seals.
Place the PCR plate on a splash-free 96-well base. Pipette the samples into the sample wells. Seal the PCR plates by using cap strips or adhesive film. Place the sealed PCR plate into the instrument without the splash-free base.
Align and place the cap strip on the appropriate wells on the 96-well PCR plate. Remove the backing of the adhesive film. Align the adhesive film so as to cover all wells while placing on the PCR plate. Then rub the flat edge of the applicator back and forth along the long edge of the PCR plate. Rub the end of the applicator horizontally and vertically between all wells of PCR plate. Rub the end of the applicator around all outside edges of the PCR plate using small back and forth motions to form a complete seal around the outside wells of PCR plate.
Does PCR plate need to clean?
The PCR plate has colors of transparent or milky white. Milky white PCR plate is more suitable for new PCR instruments. Transparent PCR plate is available if the PCR instrument is a bottom light source.
According to the skirt design, the PCR plates can be divided into various design modes, that are non-skirted, half-skirted and full-skirted PCR plates. Different manufacturers will design different cut corners or borders to fit the PCR machine.
